Georg Muffat

Georg Muffat (1653-1704)

Georg Muffat was the leading keyboard composer of his time in the Southern part of central Europe. 

A native of Savoy, he studied in Paris and Italy and worked in Prague, Salzburg and Passau. 

Blending elements of French, Italian and German style, his main work Apparatus musico-organisticus with its 12 Toccatas is a work of truly European scope.
